square root simplify

I think God must have been in a really bad mood decided to come up with something called algebra to trouble us! I’ve spent days trying to figure out a solution to this algebra problem which relates to square root simplify and I still can’t crack it. I’m particularly stuck on adding functions, interval notation and rational equations. Can anyone throw some light on how to go about finding a solution to such problems? I’ve tried all ways that I could think of, but none helped. I need some urgent guidance now. Anybody?

Hey there! I used Algebrator last year when I was having issues with my college math. This program made solving equations so easy. Since then, I always keep a copy of it on my computer.
